01 / THE TFV APPROACH

Big moves start
with the right plan.

Every load has its own requirements.
Every journey deserves a considered approach.

Three Foxes Ventures (TFV) Logistics brings a practical focus to cargo transport enquiries. Tell us what needs moving, where it needs to go, and when. We’ll start with the details that shape the journey.

Let’s talk about your cargo

03 / EQUIPPED FOR THE LOAD

Match the cargo.
Choose the setup.

The right transport configuration starts with your cargo’s dimensions, weight, and loading needs.

Illustrated equipment options. Configuration, capacity and availability are confirmed for each enquiry.

01 Low loaders & U-bed trailers
Illustration of a low-loader carrying industrial equipment

For machinery and tall or heavy equipment. Share the loaded height, ground clearance, and loading method for assessment.

BDM / BGK: Confirm the approved tractor–trailer combination. Cargo capacity depends on the combination’s unladen weight, axle loading and route.

To choose this setup: Machinery weight, length × width × height, ground clearance, and ramp/loading method.

02 Platform trailers
Illustration: Platform trailer carrying secured steel cargo

For structural materials, industrial components, and cargo suited to an open platform. Lifting and securing requirements depend on the load.

BDM / BGK: Vehicle-specific; an open platform has no single legal tonnage. Confirm the assigned combination, axle distribution and deck loading.

To choose this setup: Total weight and individual-piece weight, dimensions, support points, and crane/forklift access.

03 Curtain siders
Illustration: Curtain-sided lorry with palletised cargo visible inside

For suitable general cargo requiring covered transport and side-loading access. Share the packaging and loading-site details.

BDM / BGK: Confirm the assigned rigid vehicle or articulated combination. Covered bodywork and equipment reduce the weight available for cargo.

To choose this setup: Pallet count, total weight, internal height/width needed, and side/rear loading access.

04 Crane-assisted transport
Illustration: Lorry-mounted crane handling a wooden cargo crate

For enquiries involving lifting during loading or unloading. Reach, cargo weight, site access, and equipment availability require confirmation.

BDM: Confirm the vehicle’s approved weight and actual unladen weight including its mounted crane. Road payload and crane lifting capacity are separate limits.

To choose this setup: Heaviest lift, lifting radius/reach, cargo dimensions, outrigger space and ground conditions.

MALAYSIA / CARGO WEIGHT GUIDE

Know the weight.
Choose with confidence.

Start with your cargo’s actual weight and dimensions.
The vehicle’s paperwork determines its approved limits.

BDM

Berat Dengan Muatan

The vehicle’s approved maximum loaded weight, including the vehicle itself and its load. It is not the cargo-only allowance.

BTM

Berat Tanpa Muatan

The vehicle’s unladen weight. Bodywork and installed equipment matter when assessing how much cargo can be carried.

BGK

Berat Gabungan Kenderaan

The approved combination weight relevant to a prime mover and trailer. Check the records for the actual combination to be used.

WORKED EXAMPLE / NOT A VEHICLE RATING

Gross weight is not payload.

If an assigned rigid lorry has an approved BDM of 26 tonnes and an unladen weight of 11 tonnes, the starting weight difference is:

26 t − 11 t = 15 t

Illustrative starting difference only. Allow for all other carried weight and verify axle, vehicle and route limits before confirming cargo capacity.

What decides the maximum cargo weight?

  1. Approved vehicle / combination: BDM or BGK and the relevant registration and technical records.
  2. Actual unladen and operating weight: Include mounted equipment and all other carried weight.
  3. Axles and load placement: A total weight within BDM/BGK can still overload an axle.
  4. Journey and cargo fit: Road/bridge restrictions, dimensions, loading access and any required approvals.

There is no single BDM for each body type. The assigned vehicle’s approved rating and usable payload are confirmed with your quotation. Share your cargo details for a suitable setup to be confirmed. Malaysia–Singapore journeys also require destination-side checks.
